Liz and Deborah were introduced through a common friend in 2012 as Liz began the search for an architect and designer. Then she immediately recognized Deborah’s thoughtful care and understanding of her Boutique Bathhouse concept. She along with her Board of Advisors, made one of the best decisions of her life, and professional career, in bringing Deborah on as lead architect and designer.
With a common desire to make people feel well through the experience of the built environment, they worked together each bringing their own talents and expertise. Their skills turned out to be highly complementary, and they found they love to work and be creative together!
As a team they offer an incredibly valuable opportunity to get support and advice as you embark on your creative and exciting business. They specialize in Boutique Bathhouse and urban wellness spa and design, as well as basic business consulting from their experience from concept to opening and basic operations.
Deborah Mariotti
In 2008 she founded MariottiStudio, an interdisciplinary office that works on a variety of projects, from residential to retail to nightclubs, offices and spas . It is this variety and constant exchange and interaction that stimulate MariottiStudio’s creative process so that it can answer perfectly to each client’s particular needs.
MariottiStudio obtained an Honorable Mention at the 2019 Best of Year Design Award and an Honorable Mention at the2020 NYCxDesign Awards, in the Wellness category, for the design of Citywell Brooklyn. A project for a medical spa in Canada won the Ontario ACO for Adaptive Reuse award for a conversion of an existing church.
Many projects have been featured in articles online and in printed magazines and books.
MariottiStudio has an office in Brooklyn, New York, and an office in Umbria, Italy.
Liz Tortolani
Liz has worked in the wellness field for the past 20 years both in Seattle and New York. She is a licensed massage therapist, yoga instructor, wellness coach and now owner of cityWell brooklyn, a boutique bathhouse in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Having overcome a debilitating chronic illness when she was young, she transformed her experience into a passion for wellness and helping others realize their creative visions while helping improve the health and quality of life of urban wellness seekers.
In 2015 Liz wrote an award winning business plan and thus, gained tremendous knowledge of what goes into business planning and successfully launched cityWell in 2015.
